Big Bill Morganfield, Doc Malone, King Edward… and Muddy Waters – Iron Horse Grill

King Edward and his band were asked to play with Big Bill Morganfield, son of Muddy Waters, for a special show on January 11 at the Iron Horse Grill, in Jackson, Mississippi. King opened each set with several songs before bringing Big Bill up to the stage.

It was a great night of blues for the audience, with Big Bill not only performing on his guitar but also some slide guitar. His harmonicist Doc Malone, from Indiana, played too, along with King’s band, Abdul Rasheed on bass and Rick Lewis on drums.

Big Bill’s legendary father was on stage as well… under the form of a life-size figure – the latest addition to the venue’s Hall of Fame, unveiled for the occasion.  The figure was posed on the stage and Muddy Waters looked like he was singing with Bill and King. For King it was like being sent back to his Chicago years, when he used to sit in with… him at Theresa’s Lounge.
