King Edward – Tamale Fest

The King Edward Band featuring King Edward, Carty McMullen on keys and vocals, Abdul Rasheed on bass and vocals, and Rick Lewis on drums performed for the first ever Tamale Festival, Jackson, Mississippi, at the Mississippi Coliseum. The band played an up-tempo blues show for the appreciative crowd.

These artists are all members of the Central Mississippi Blues Society and were regular performers at the legendary Subway Lounge, Jackson. They were also featured in the documentary the Last of the Mississippi Jukes.

The StoryTeller’s Ball – “Blame It On The Blues”, sponsored by the Greater Jackson Arts Council, Jackson, Mississippi, was a mini-fest in one night. It featured many of Jackson’s wonderful blues artists. King Edward performed with the bassman Jerry Jemmott, Rick Lewis on drums and Chalmers Davis on keys.
