This old Blues poster features King Edward and McKinley Mitchell. King Edward met McKinley Mitchell in Chicago days and they began performing and touring together. They both relocated to Jackson, Mississippi, in 1975 and continued to work together and record with Malaco Records until Mitchell’s death.

Zac Harmon, born in Jackson, Mississippi, brought his band to Underground 119. Zac welcomed musician friends to perform with him including King Edward and Jarekus Singleton. Other notable Jackson artists who performed were Cassandra Wilson, Bernard Jenkins, Dennis Fountain and Jesse Robinson.

King Edward is welcoming passengers landing at the Jackson, Mississippi, Airport. He is pictured in a large ad photo displayed at the airport. His drummer, Rick Lewis, also Dorothy Moore’s drummer, is on the drums and one of his bass players/vocalists Abdul Rasheed is playing bass. All three of them were featured in the Last of the Mississippi Jukes. On the harmonica is Grady Champion 2010 International Blues Challenge winner. They are all members of the Central Mississippi Blues Society.
